Primary Purpose:

 

Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth through the study and engagement in music. Enable student to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

 

Qualifications:

 

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate for content & level assigned
  • ESL Certification current

Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of subjects assigned
  • General knowledge of design and delivery issues related to alignment for best results in student achievement
  • Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

 

Experience:

  • Student teaching or approved internship

 

Hiring administrators review applications, interview, and recommend for hire.

Probationary contract - 187 days plus 4 days of Alief U professional development for a teacher new to the district

Pay Grade P1T 

Minimum Teaching Salary: $62,000

Coaching Stipend depends on sport & level.

2023-2024 Salary Schedule 

2024-2025 Salary Schedule is pending school board approval
