2024-2025 Part-Time Principal Coach @ Instruction Department
Primary Purpose:
To provide school principals with intensive coaching support to advance the implementation of the Effective Schools Framework and school improvement efforts in order to create thriving learning environments, maximize student outcomes, and meet state and federal requirements.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Master’s degree from a recognized, accredited university
- Valid Texas Supervisor, Mid-Management or Standard Principal certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Google and Plan4Learning
- Knowledge of and experience in various coaching models
- Ability to facilitate various size groups using facilitative leadership skills
- Ability to interpret data and support principals as they evaluate school instructional programs and teaching effectiveness
- Knowledge of school budget, staffing, and personnel evaluation
- Knowledge of Effective Schools Framework concepts and principles
- Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate with others to support campus principals
Experience:
- Five (5) years’ of successful experience as a school Principal
- Proven track record of implementing district policies and procedures to improve student outcomes
- Proven track record of implementing district policies and procedures to improve student outcomes
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Coaching and Leadership
- The Part-Time Principal Coach (PTPC) primary role is to support the Principal Coaches as they strengthen the implementation of instructional practices and establish sustainable systems to create a thriving learning environment for students to flourish.
- To provide a select number of school principals with intensive coaching support to advance the implementation of the Effective Schools Framework (ESF) and school improvement efforts to create thriving learning environments, maximize student outcomes, and meet state and federal requirements with Vetted partners.
- To support select schools that are in danger of becoming in School Improvement.
- The PTPC will ensure that systems are in place to support the accelerated improvement of student performance by attending and participating in:
- ILT (Instructional Leadership Team Meetings)
- Classroom & Observation Feedback Cycles
- Planning
- PLC (Data Driven Instruction and Professional Learning
- The PTPC will work collaboratively with the Principal Coaches and provide feedback from campus support visits.
- The PTPC will support the creation of the Targeted Improvement Plan (TIP) or Local Improvement Plan (LIP).

Communication
- To ensure constant and consistent communication, the PTPC and the Principal Coaches will meet on a bi-weekly basis to review campus progress.
- The PTPC will maintain a rolling agenda of their campus visits to share with Principal Coaches.
- The PTPC will complete the Campus Dashboard upon completion of each visit.
Other
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures
- Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief
- Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of Professional Non-Supervisor Personnel.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals
Posture: Standing, prolonged sitting, occasional kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching; may also require climbing stairs and reaching over head
Lifting: Frequent moderate lifting and carrying (up to 25 pounds); occasional heavy lifting and carrying (25-50 pounds)
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; possible district wide travel; all campuses are temperature controlled with hard surface floors
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
