Primary Purpose:
To facilitate the collection and dissemination of pertinent information and materials regarding enrollment and return of students between the Alief Learning Center and the home campus.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or GED
- Qualifies for appropriate state paraprofessional certification
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Demonstrate interest in and aptitude for work to be performed
- Computer skills helpful
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Able to maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders
- Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task activities
Experience:
- Two (2) years of successful experience in a school setting
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Program Support
- Serve as a liaison between the Alief Learning Center and the referring school in matters regarding the collection of referral packet data and distribution of materials upon return.
- Maintain effective on-going communication with referring building personnel to advise them of student progress at the Alief Learning Center, acquire academic information during enrollment and to arrange student return and follow up.
- Assist in the student Alief Learning Center intake process through evaluation of the referral packet for completeness and readiness.
- Assist students and parents regarding campus transition procedures, as may be required.
- Maintain accurate and complete follow-up records.
Other
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief.
- Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Evaluation
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of Instructional Paraprofessional Personnel.
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals
Posture: Standing, prolonged sitting, occasional kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching; may also require climbing stairs and reaching over head
Lifting: Moderate lifting and carrying (up to 15 pounds); May require occasional heavy lifting and carrying (15-45 pounds)
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; possible district wide travel; all campuses are temperature controlled with hard surface floors
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

Salary Range Min-$22,224 Mid-$26,280 Max-$30,337 (Based on previous experience)
2023-2024 Salary Schedule
2024-2025 Salary Schedule is penidng school board approval
Salary is based on working 187 days; working less days is less salary
