2024-2025 Part-Time Temp AVID Tutor @ Various Alief ISD Locations (36 positions)

 

AVID Tutors will work with small groups to facilitate the AVID tutorial process in the AVID Elective classroom to ensure students are using inquiry to problem solve and think critically.

 

AVID Tutors will:

1. Take an active role in developing the academic and personal strength of AVID students.
2. Assist students in becoming college ready.
3. Provide academic support for students in rigorous courses.
4. Serve as a role model to AVID students.
5. Be positive and professional.
6. Arrive on time and prepared to facilitate tutorials under the supervision of the AVID teacher.
7. Actively participate in collaborative groups and tutorials.
8. Adhere to Alief ISD policies and procedures.
9. Collaborate with AVID teachers and AVID District Directors.
10. Track student progress.
11. Complete AVID tutor training before placement

 

 

4 hours per day

66 days or less

Certified Teachers - $25 per hour

Non-Certified/Degreed - $20 per hour

High School Diploma/GED Equivalent - $13 per hour

Other - $15

 

Hourly rates listed above are subject to change depending on the funding allocated for the specific job you may be hired for.  

As needed throught the current school year.

The funding for this position is federally funded.

Continuation of the position is contingent upon availability of future funds.
