Primary Purpose:
To establish and maintain accurate registration records.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or GED
- Qualify for appropriate state paraprofessional certification
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Demonstrate an interest in and an aptitude for work to be performed
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills & attention to details
- Self-motivated and the ability to work independently without supervision
- Pleasant telephone personality and effective communications skills
- Ability to work cooperatively with all stakeholders
- Understanding of math and record-keeping procedures
- Computer skills required
- Good typing skills
- Bilingual preferred
Experience:
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Program Management
- Register all new students and input the students’ information into the computer.
- Maintain student demographic information in the computer and update any changes in a timely manner.
- Establish and maintain a system to request, send, and track student files.
- Request records via TREx or by fax if the student is from out of state.
- Prepare and process withdrawals and secure all supporting documentation i.e. grades and parent letters.
- Assist parents, students, and personnel with questions regarding student registration.
- Verify students’ addresses when campus mail comes back as undeliverable or is returned.
- Complete transaction logs and run reports requested by the principal.
Policy, Reports, and Law
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations.
- Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required
- Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and the local board policy.
Other
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief.
- Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Evaluation
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of Non-Instructional Paraprofessional Personnel.
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals
Posture: Standing, prolonged sitting, occasional kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching; may also require climbing stairs and reaching over head
Lifting: Moderate lifting and carrying (up to 15 pounds); May require occasional heavy lifting and carrying (15-45 pounds)
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent district wide travel; all campuses are temperature controlled with hard surface floors
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

2024-2025 Salary Schedule
Salary is based on working 200 days; working less days is less salary for the 2024-2025 school year
